CBOT wheat was up 0.4 percent at $5.16 a bushel, after reaching a one-week top at $5.18 earlier in the day. Corn was also up for a third consecutive session, adding 0.2 percent to $3.80-1/2 a bushel. It earlier set a two-week high of $3.81-1/4.

However, export optimism was tempered by a lack of official data due to a partial US government shutdown. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has suspended daily and weekly publications on export sales, and is due to decide on Friday whether it will postpone a series of crop estimates due on Jan. 11.
